The African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards(AMVCA) 2023 Cultural Day happened last night to kick off this year’s celebration. The three-day lineup of events kickstarted on Thursday, May 18, 2023, with the glamorous Opening Night and Cultural Day.
AMVCA is unarguably the biggest award show in Africa and in every edition, it comes with glitz, glamour, and unforgettable style inspiration to last a while.
The Executive Head of Content, and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Dr. Busola Tejumola, promised that this year’s award is focused on raising the bar when it comes to recognizing and rewarding talents in the African movie industry.
The series of activities scheduled for the three-day event began on May 18 with the Opening Night and Cultural Day event which was a celebration of African culture and diversity. Followed by the Runway Show and Nominee Gala scheduled for Friday, May 19, which is a nod to the key role fashion, style, and design play in the film and television industry. The runway show is also a means to give fashion designers the right platform to showcase their art. And finally, the grand finale of the event will be the award night happening on Saturday, May 20.
