5 Effective Ways to Treat Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

It makes you older than you are and gives people the impression that you’re going through a lot of stress. This can be very uncool.  If they still appear, don’t worry. What are Dark Circles Under the Eyes?

Depending on your skin colour, dark circles under your eyes may be black, dark brown or blue. They happen to both men and women and mostly occur as a result of tiredness or lack of sleep. These circles aren’t a matter of medical concern however people get bothered for cosmetic reasons. 1. Get More Sleep

If the cause of the dark circles under your eyes is fatigue or poor sleeping habits, you should get enough sleep. Sleep for at least seven to eight hours every day to prevent and get rid of dark circles. While resting adequately, you can also raise your head up on extra pillows to prevent fluid from gathering under your eyes making them swell or look puffy.  

2. Apply Cold Tea Bags

Tea contains caffeine and antioxidants that reduce fluid retention under your skin, shrink your blood vessels and allow your blood circulate well. Using tea bags on your eyes can make your eyes look better. To use, soak a tea bag in hot water for about five minutes. Then put it in the refrigerator to get chilled for 15 minutes. Afterwards, place the tea bags on your cold eyes for 15 minutes before removing and rinsing your face with cold water. You can use herbal, black or green tea bags.

3. Cucumber

Cucumber offers great benefits to your skin. It’s not difficult to use. Simply take two slices of cucumber and place them on your closed eyes for 10 to 15 minutes. The Vitamin C content and high water in cucumber help to nourish and moisturise your skin. Also, cucumber contains silica which gives you healthy tissues and reduces puffiness.

4. Makeup

Makeup and other cosmetic products don’t cure dark circles under the eyes but they are of great help when it comes to hiding them. Concealers and foundation can cover discoloration on the face and blend them with your complexion. But they shouldn’t be worn all the time.

5. Skincare Products

Certain skincare products that contain antioxidants such as Vitamins C and E can get rid of these unhealthy circles under the eyes. When getting them, ensure you buy products that suit your skin type to avert adverse effects.

You can as well try a cold compress on your eyes or massage the area around your eyes. These are also effective ways to treat dark circles under your eyes and further eradicate eye bags or other facial spoilers.
