Orange Culture premiered LFW2019 runway show with its SS20 collection comprising fun prints and vibrant colours.

Yutee Rone

Yutee Rone’s SS20 was all about deconstructions, silhouette and pastels and Toke Makinwa appeared as one of the models, opening and closing the walk.

Bloke presented a ‘Family Portrait’ using the family tree diagram and family anagram as a print on garments to depict the interwoven intricacies of the concept of family and a homage to the respect of ancestors in the African culture. The colour palette utilised the complete spectrum of colours to show the diversity and complexities in a family regardless of the unifying bond. As an artisanal label, Bloke employed techniques such as knitting, hand dying, applique, hand stitching, silk screening and patchwork for the creation of the garments that made up the collection.

The collection for the fashion brand was entitled Sovereignty. According to the brand, the collection is inspired by “the Pan-Africanism movement and through our creative thought processes we have made use of several African traditional elements and have done this in a modern way. The collection speaks more than just clothes.”

Rick Dusi

While on the runway, Rick Dusi got his boys in formation and it was all a sync. The collection is entitled “Evolve”.

Writing has always been a part of me. From writing stories as a young child to studying Communication Arts in the university, it has always been more than a medium of expression to me.

And then one day, I found myself toeing the path of an entrepreneur and becoming a fashion enthusiast. This made me develop an interest in content marketing and copywriting which I've been chasing alongside my fashion career.

That aside, when I'm not sharing style articles, selling with stories, or sketching fashion-forward pieces for Ria Kosher, you'll find me telling wild stories that always come with a twist.
