To do a pedicure at home, you need the following materials:

- A basin of warm water

- Moisturiser

- Shampoo
- Bath Salt
- Towel

Steps on How to Do a Pedicure At Home
1. Prepare Your Nails
Trim and shape your nails. If you have nail polish on, use the nail polish remover to take them off. When trimming your nails with the nail cutter, cut them straight across. Don’t cut the corners too much to avoid painful ingrown nails. After trimming, file your nails with the nail file. You can choose to file your nails into any shape of your choice. When filing, file in a single direction to get the desired shape. Do not file back and forth across the tip of your nails.
2. Immerse Your Feet
Soak your feet in the basin of warm water. Ensure the water in the basin is enough to cover your ankles. Then add shampoo or some bath salt and a few drops of essential oil into the water. Let your feet sit in the water for about 20 minutes. Soaking your feet helps you relax your nerves after having a stressful day. Once you’re done soaking your feet, dry them with a towel.
3. Exfoliate Your Feet
After the foot bath and your feet are dry, scrub your feet with the pumice stone. Before doing this, massage your toenails with some cuticle cream. If you don’t have a pumice stone, use a foot file to scrub your feet. Scrubbing your feet removes the dry and dead skin which becomes hard when not scrubbed off from time to time. After scrubbing, take off the cuticle cream and use the cuticle pusher to remove your cuticles. Removing your cuticles helps your nails grow better. Be soft when removing them. Afterwards, exfoliate your feet again with a foot scrub. Scrub the sides of your feet, the area between your toes, your heels and your soles.
4. Moisturise Your Feet
Done scrubbing your feet? Proceed to moisturising them. Moisturising softens and hydrates your skin. While moisturising your feet, you can massage your ankles, feet and calf muscles for about ten minutes. Doing this regularly will help improve blood circulation and rejuvenate the life of your feet.
5. Decorate Your Nails
After doing the aforementioned steps, proceed to decorate your nails with nail polish. You can use any colour of your choice. While polishing your nails, apply a base coat first and let it dry completely before applying the nail polish. Once it dries, apply another coat. Repeat this on all your nails and you are good to go.
Note: If you do not want to go through this entire process of scrubbing your feet regularly, use a pumice stone to scrub your feet twice a week while you’re taking your bath to remove the dry, dead skin.
