TheĀ  16th Headies: See List of the Big Winners

The 16th Headies, unarguably the biggest award show in the Nigerian music industry, happened last night in Atlanta for the second time in a row. Some of our favorite artistes were among the big winners who swept awards in major categories

The show, billed as a celebration of the African Renaissance, was hosted by award-winning actress and producer Osas Ighodaro and American actor, TV presenter, and model Terrence J.

The biggest winners of the night were Rema (3), ODUMODUBLVCK (2), Burna Boy (2), Asake (2), and Victony (2). Asake wrote his name in history as the only artiste to clinch both the NEXT RATED and ALBUM OF THE YEAR plaques on the same night. He also became one of three male artistes to win ALBUM OF THE YEAR with a debut album (Mr Money With The Vibe).

The women were not left out either. Artistes like Ayra Starr, Waje, and Libianca clinched an award for themselves, while Diddy and the late Soun Sultan received an honorary award. Besides the awards show, electrifying performances by ODUMODUBLVK, Wande Coal, Spyro, Kcee also thrilled the crowd.
