Some time ago, I got this beautiful dress for an event. This dress was everything that could make me the cynosure of all eyes; it matched my skin tone, brought out my figure and was in itself very beautiful.
But on the day of the event, as soon as I wore the dress, I was quick to notice a problem – my panty lines were visible! I found it very much embarrassing that I had to take off the dress and opt for something else so when I turned around, I wouldn’t see those dreaded visible panty lines again.
Visible panty lines are minute but they can ruin any lady’s outfit. It’s a serious pain for ladies especially when you want to rock a tight-fitting dress but because you don’t want to attract undesired attention to your behind, you forgo the dress and opt for something else (just like I did).
If you’ve always wanted to have a seamless finish with your undergarments but keep failing at it, this article is here to serve you with easy ways to banish visible panty lines in tight dresses. Do read on.
1. Wear thick fabrics
When it comes to tight clothing, go for more textured and thick fabrics like denim, suede, etc. They are better at hiding subtle lumps. Do not wear silk, jersey or other lightweight skintight materials.
They are not the best options for such scenario as they are just too smooth and clingy. But should you want to wear them, then they should be loose-fitting.
2. Go for thongs
Thongs don’t have lines that would show. Thongs and G-strings may not be as comfy as full-coverage panties, but they are sure to eliminate visible panty lines set to mar your outfit.
3. Try out some good shapewear
Shapewear, also called Spanx, helps in creating a smooth line under your clothes. They are long and go all the way up to the stomach to help erase unsightly visible panty lines. Pick them in the right sizes and ensure they aren’t too loose to be seamless.
4. Seamless shorts
Seamless shorts are briefs for women. They feature seamless designs that have a comfortable feel. Their edges are thin making them invisible under clothes. Plus, the material has a smooth comfortable snug and the legholes are usually low or high rise sexy bikini cut.
5. Stick-on thongs
If you want to go beyond thongs, then try underwear stickers, otherwise called stick-on thongs. Since they don’t have any waistband, they come in handy if you’re wearing a super tight-fitting dress that also happens to have major side slits like the picture below. Some of these stick-on thongs are reusable and washable.

6. Opt for boyshorts if thongs aren’t your thing
Boyshorts are great because they go right under the curve of the butt cheek instead of cutting across it. They are comfy and shape up just perfect.
7. Hide your visible panty lines with a busy print dress
Also, for tight dresses, an item with a bold and busy pattern camouflages panty lines. Polka dots, snake prints, checkered, etc., all fall into this category of bold prints.
8. Go Commando
If you don’t want to do any of the above alternatives, then you can as well go commando. To go commando means to wear no underpants.
Although, this isn’t always an option especially for those who do not have a great sitting etiquette, but it is actually cool and prevents any form of panty line showing in your dress.
Be careful not to go commando with dresses that can easily be rolled up by the wind. You wouldn’t want to find yourself on Instablog9ja, would you?
